'This has been a wonderful opportunity to apply my patterns to wall to wall, machine tufted flooring. It is different to designing a rug that is framed by the edge of its perimeter - as with carpeting, like fabric, the pattern is infinite, and only gets framed by the walls of the room. It is different from wallpaper as it does not have to comply with the visual expectations of gravity - instead it needs to be multi directional i.e. non-directional, no top or bottom or side!’
